Feature & Follow # 1

February 22, 2013 Damien Echols, Feature and Follow 27

Feature and Follow is a blog hop hosted by Parajunkee & Alison Can Read. The purpose is to meet new people and gain more followers in the book blogging community.

Q: We always talk about books that WE want. Let’s turn it on its head. What books have you given other people lately?

A: The last book I gave as a gift was Life After Death by Damien Echols.  (See my review here.)  I gave it to my true crime-loving cousin.  Life After Death is a beautiful memoir, written by a man who was wrongfully convicted and sentenced to death row for the murders of three young boys.  He and two co-defendants were exonerated, due largely to the tireless efforts of celebrities including Johnny Depp, Peter Jackson, and Eddie Vedder.  If you’ve heard of the West Memphis Three case, or if you’ve seen the HBO Paradise Lost documentaries, then you’re already familiar with Echols.

If you comment with a link to your FF, I will follow back.  I love interacting on Twitter, too.  I’m @ReadRinseRepeat (link at top right).  Thanks for stopping by, and don’t forget to check out my giveaways!

    Hey Go Flash,

Thanks for stopping by my FF! This memoir sounds intense. “Wrongfully convicted.” Crazy. I usually don’t read memoirs (I prefer to live in la la land), but this one looks interesting. Thanks for the rec!

      Thanks, Florentine! 🙂

Intense and tragic, indeed. Considering I’m reading The Fault In Our Stars right now, it goes right along with the theme of the day.

Thank you for stopping by my blog too! I’m following back via GFC 😀 My GFC profile is giving me problem so I am following you under the name of Morganville94 which is my previous profile, but it’s still synced to my current google profile, so sorry about that!

    Have a great day!
