Teaser Tuesday # 1 – The Sweetest Dark

February 12, 2013 Shana Abe, Teaser Tuesday 7

Teaser Tuesday is a weekly bookish meme hosted by MizB at Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:

  • Grab your current read
  • Open to a random page
  • Share 2 “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
  • BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! Make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!
  • Share the Author & Title too, so that other TT participants can add the book to the TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
My Teaser:
“Freedom smelled of wild waters; it glimmered in a path of stars above my head.  Freedom tasted like sea salt on my tongue.”  Page: 33% of Kindle

A pretty cover, but an odd title, considering the genre. “The Sweetest Dark” sounds like it belongs on the shelves with the cheesy romances my grandma likes to read. 🙂

I wish I could take credit for the owls, but I found this template for free!

Thanks for stopping by, Kay! Following you back.

I had to set aside The Sweetest Dark for now. Just got Asunder by Jodi Meadows from the library today, so I need to rearrange me reading priorities. 🙂

That cover definitely looks familiar! I believe I spotted it on Netgalley 🙂 Do you like it so far? The teaser you showed us sounds very symbolic! Is it like this throughout the book? Sound beautiful!

I used to do Teaser Tuesday! Missed out this time but I’ll definitely do them next time, forgot how fun they are to share 😉 haha!

Yup – this was my first Net Galley book! I think I already violated a rule because it specifically said not to quote since this was an uncorrected proof. Don’t tell on me!

I would say I’m intrigued so far. I like the setting of London during the WW1 era – makes me think of Downton Abbey! But even though I’m over a third of the way through, I feel like there are so many mysteries – not sure whether that’s good or bad at this point.

Looking forward to your teaser next week!
