Stacking the Shelves # 52

February 15, 2014 Stacking the Shelves 20

Stacking The Shelves is all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves, may it be physical or virtual. This means you can include books you buy in physical store or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books, gifts and of course ebooks! Visit Tynga’s Reviews to learn more about this weekly meme.

FIRST, A PUBLIC SERVICE MESSAGE!!!

If you like audiobooks, or if you’ve been considering trying audioooks, get your sweet self over to Audible.  They’ve got a great sale of over 200 first-in-series audiobooks, all for $4.95.  And these aren’t bottom of the barrel selections.  They’ve got Daughter of Smoke and Bone, Everneath, Dead Until Dark (Sookie Stackhouse series), Shatter Me, Ruby Red, Feed, Enclave, The Iron King…you get the idea.  The sale ends on 2/18.  I’m going to try to not go too crazy.  If you see some titles that you love, let me know, because I’m always looking for recommendations!  This would be a great chance to branch out to try something new.

Dark Places by Gillian Flynn
Cress by Marissa Meyer: Believe it or not, I JUST started reading this series a couple of weeks ago as part of my Series Catch-Up Challenge.  I read Cinder and LOVED it.  In fact, it got my first 5 star review since October when I read The Winner’s Curse.  You can see my review of Cinder here.  I’ve got about 100 pages left in Scarlet, and I’m not enjoying it quite as much.  It’s still very good, though.  And I’m still every bit as enthusiastic to read Cress.

Split Second and Pivot Point by Kasie West: I was thrilled to win a Twitter contest that Kasie hosted.  I absolutely loved Pivot Point (you can see my review here), and I’ve been anxious to get my hands on Split Second.  Even better?  She sent a hardcover, not an ARC!

Let me know what hit your shelves this week!

Thanks for the awesome link, I’ve never really thought about trying audiobooks, but that’s an awesome deal. Going to join up and try it out. I’ve tried the Kindle text to audio option, and just couldn’t get into it, but this sounds perfect. Thanks for sharing.

Ohhh, Strange Sweet Song has a gorgeous cover! I cannot wait to read Cress. I liked Cinder, loved Scarlet and Cress will be waiting for me in the post office next week (I hope). My friend Nick just gifted me a copy of Pivot Point and I can’t wait to dig in. Congrats on the win 🙂
