January 31, 2015 Stacking the Shelves 12

stacking the shelves

Stacking The Shelves is all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves, may it be physical or virtual. This means you can include books you buy in physical store or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books, gifts and of course ebooks! Visit Tynga’s Reviews to learn more about this weekly meme.

I watched The Interview last week.  Perhaps you’ve heard of it?  I would tell you not to waste your time, but I also suspect that many of you feel like I did – with such a huge fuss made over this film, I felt obligated to watch it.  Based on the reviews, I expected it to be horrible, but I didn’t know it would be THIS horrible.  Just a dreadfully unfunny “comedy.”  Perhaps this was North Korea’s plan all along – to punish Americans by making us feel obligated to sit through this film.  If that was the case, MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!

Cinder and Scarlet by Marissa Meyer: I have been wanting to buy foreign editions of The Lunar Chronicles, one of my favorite series, so when Powell’s had a sale a couple of weeks ago, I snapped up these Spanish paperbacks.  Aren’t they beautiful?  I actually prefer these to the American covers.  I haven’t yet seen the Spanish cover for Cress; I’m guess it hasn’t been published yet.  Marissa Meyer has a Pinterest page with all of her covers.  I think the Korean cover for Cress is my favorite of all of them.  Take a peek, and let me know which ones you love.

The Girl on the Train by Paula Hawkins:: I’m happy to say that this book lived up to the hype!

I have no intention of watching The Interview, whether North Korea try to force me or not! *grins* Actually I don’t watch comedies but I only find 1 out of 100 funny and it’s not worth the effort. I’ve only liked two that I’ve seen in about ten years which is depressing! Enjoy your books!

Great haul! I’ve been seeing All Fall Down around a lot though I’ve never read anything by Ally Carter. Cinder is so good! I have yet to read the rest of the books in the series, but I’m hoping that once the last one comes out I’ll just binge-read them all! I hope you enjoy your books. 🙂
