Breaking Bad Finale: My (Probably Wrong) Predictions

Sunday night, beginning at 9 PM, I will be glued to my TV.  It will be both exhilarating and heart-breaking, because after Sunday, Breaking Bad will be over. I was a latecomer to the series.  I didn’t start watching until after the end of season three.  A coworker had been raving about the show and encouraging me to watch it, but I resisted.  I thought, how was I supposed to get any enjoyment out of watching a couple of losers… Read more »

Musings on Game of Thrones Finale

I watched the Game of Thrones finale last night, and yes, I had some thoughts.  Note: I have not yet read the books, so these musings are based only on the show.  It was nice to see that sweet little scene between Sansa and Tyrion.  I like Sansa, but she infuriated me when she whined and pouted when she learned she was going to be married to Tyrion.  Yes, he’s shorter than you, but you were going to be wed… Read more »

Veronica Mars Has Swept the Nation…And ME!!!

OK – it’s confession time.  I’ve never seen an episode of Veronica Mars.  Sure, I’ve heard all of the praise, but much like Friday Night Lights and Dexter, as many times as I’ve heard, “You MUST watch this show,” I’ve stubbornly resisted.  I assume I’ll get around to them one of these days.  I also resisted Breaking Bad until last year.  Then I plowed through all of the seasons on Netflix, and I’m now a convert. So that brings us… Read more »

Movies Musings – Warm Bodies

Movies Musings – Warm Bodies

Unlike 95% or so of America, I spent Super Bowl Sunday at the theater, watching Warm Bodies.  I figured it wouldn’t be too crowded, but surprisingly, there were quite a few couples there.  I couldn’t help wondering if these were just football-hating guys, or if their girlfriends have some magical persuasive powers. If you haven’t read the book by Isaac Marion, I highly recommend it, even if you don’t like the zombie genre.  Not surprisingly, the gory parts of the… Read more »
