Top Ten Tuesday #29: Books Most In Need of a Cover Re-Design

Top Ten Tuesday #29: Books Most In Need of a Cover Re-Design

Top Ten Tuesday is a meme created by The Broke and the Bookish. Each week a new topic is given and weeks topic is: Books Most In Need of a Cover Re-Design This hurts because Julie Kagawa is one of my favorite authors, and I love the Blood of Eden series.  But I’ve got problems with both of these covers.  The MC in this series is Asian, and the girl on the cover of The Immortal Rules is…not.  The decision to… Read more »

Review: The Deepest Night by Shana Abe

Review: The Deepest Night by Shana Abe

Note: This review contains spoilers of the first book in the series, The Sweetest Dark. The Deepest Night suffers from a case of sophomore-itis.  The first book, The Sweetest Dark (you can see my review here), revealed Lora’s shocking secret: she’s a dragon.  And so is Armand, who is deeply in love with Lora.  Small world!  That book was enjoyable for a lot of reasons: The WWI setting in England; the fish out of water aspect of poor-girl Lora given… Read more »

Review: The Sweetest Dark by Shana Abe

Review: The Sweetest Dark by Shana Abe

The Goodreads synopsis does not specify them, so I won’t either. (The prologue does actually specify the what, but not the who.) The setting is World War 1-era England. This makes me think of Downton Abbey, and anything… Read more »
